PROFESSIONAL CAREER

Design Management

  • 1988 – 1996 Design Manager at Rosenthal AG in Selb, responsible for the porcelain development of all brands, inclusive hotel and cutlery development. Coordination and performance of the design development in cooperation with production, marketing and distribution. Mentoring of all projects with external designers
  • 2001 -2010 Design Management and Consulting for Fürstenberg porcelain manufacture: New positioning of the brand as “Modern Manufacture” with new market opportunities. Picking up traditional techniques for actual themes in the market and implementing in economic methods of production

Design

  • 1997 – today: Founder of design studio Dörfel-Design, specializing in tabletop and hotel industry design worldwide
  • 2014 – today: cofounder and chef designer of the brand IntoConcrete, Inc. in Chicago, with main focus on product development, design management and corporate identity. www.intoconcrete.com

Teaching

  • 1997 – 1998 Leadership of two student projects at the University of Arts in Berlin within design management for Rosenthal
